This is great news as the traffic is terrible. Traffic jams making it difficult to walk in to the park, very dangerous. Why this weekend? Will it be an ongoing restriction?
Why are the carparks closed this weekend?
There were many complaints about the high volume of cars on the interior of the park in the weeks preceding the closure, which impacted on most people’s enjoyment of the park (and damaged verges etc). Quite a few pictures on social media.
It was closed to traffic during the first lockdown, so the council responded with a repeat during this lockdown at the weekends, when most people visit. The closure has now been extended in current restrictions. Blue badges/works access exempted.
